Small Movements
This work is a collaboration with Amy Friend. We launched this project as part of the cultural programming for the 2022 Canada Games in Niagara. Using light sensitive photographic paper, the work directly captures the movement of water–the splashes and waves of my kayak–along the shores of Lake Ontario. This ongoing project aims to make a lasting record of delightful, intangible–and often fleeting–moments of connection with the natural world while also highlighting the complexities embedded in the many ways that humans indelibly shape and alter the landscapes they live, work, and play in.
